A small studio in Toronto

Still Water Yoga

Three kinds of practice, one quiet room. Vinyasa to move, yin to slow down, prenatal to make space. Small classes, no mirrors, no heat, no performance.

This week

Every class is 60 minutes unless noted. Doors open 15 minutes before; the room is quiet from ten minutes before start. Mats, blocks, bolsters and blankets are here — bring only yourself and something to drink.

Schedule changes around holidays and the odd teacher trip — the booking page always has the live version. Classes cap at [number] people so everyone gets looked after.

The three practices

You don't have to pick one and stay there. Most people here move between all three depending on the week they're having.

Move

Vinyasa

Breath-led movement, one posture flowing into the next. We teach it at three intensities: Slow flow for people who want to learn the shapes properly, All levels for the steady middle, and Strong for when you already know the room and want to sweat a little.

Expect standing poses, balance work, some core, and a long enough rest at the end that you actually get one. Beginners are genuinely welcome in all levels — tell the teacher before class and they'll offer options.

Slow

Yin

Long, still holds — usually three to five minutes — in shapes that work the hips, spine and hamstrings. It's not stretching for the sake of stretching; it's time under gentle load so connective tissue and the nervous system both get a chance to soften.

Bolsters, blankets and blocks do most of the work. If you've been sitting at a desk all day, or you're carrying a lot of noise in your head, this is the class to start with.

Make space

Prenatal

Built for pregnancy, taught by [Teacher name], who is [prenatal certification / training detail]. We work with side body length, hip opening, pelvic floor awareness and breath — the things that make late pregnancy and labour easier to live in.

Every trimester is welcome, and so are people coming back after birth once they've been cleared. Positions are adapted with props rather than pushed through; nothing here requires you to lie on your belly or hold your breath.

A small room, on purpose

Still Water is a single-room studio. That's the whole idea: no second location, no franchise, no class so full you can't see the teacher. We keep numbers low so a teacher can actually watch how you're standing and say something useful about it.

The room is warm, unheated, and quiet. No mirrors — you're not being asked to check your form against a reflection. Phones stay in the cubby by the door. There's a small change area, a washroom, and tea after the evening classes if you want to stay and not talk to anyone.

We're on [street address], a short walk from [nearest subway station]. Street parking after 6pm, and there's a bike rack out front.

First class is free

No card, no trial membership, no sales conversation afterwards. Come once, see if the room suits you, then decide. If you'd rather just be added to the schedule list, say so in the message.

Ask about your first class

Tell us what you're after — a class to start with, prenatal timing, an injury we should know about — and we'll write back the same day.
